Decent Homes Standard (applicable to England only)

The decent homes standard was a measure of general housing conditions introduced by the Government in 2000. Although private landlords were not directly required to take any action to bring their properties up to this standard, the Government set targets for local authorities.

However, from April 2008, all other sets of indicators, including Best Value Performance Indicators and Performance Assessment Framework indicators, have been abolished.
