Landlord accreditation
The Preston Accredited Lettings Scheme (PALs) was launched as a development of the Landlords Forum. Accredited landlords agree to adhere to a code relating to management as well as the physical condition of their privately rented accommodation. The purpose of a Voluntary Accreditation Scheme is to recognise landlords who manage their properties to a good standard.
Members of PALs benefit from the status as being publicly identified as a good landlord. Tenants can also benefit by knowing that, if they choose to rent from an accredited landlord, their accommodation will be in good condition and the tenancy will be managed to a good standard.
Preston City Council is a member of the Accreditation Network UK (ANUK). ANUK aims to influence national policies and strategies relating to accreditation and encourage consistency in Local Authorities' enforcement policies.
