Our sponsors, Netrent.co.uk, are the UK's number one letting website. They also manage and run free websites for Accredited Landlords. If you are an Accredited Landlord or if you own or manage Accredited Property you can advertise these properties on Netrent.co.uk and also on the new regional Accredited Landlords only websites.

The first two of these sites are:

For Accredited Landlords in the North West
www.northwestlandlords.co.uk

For Accredited Landlords in the West of England
www.westofenglandlandlords.co.uk

The intention is to offer these Accredited Landlord websites throughout the country. Netrent.co.uk are working with Local Authorities throughout the UK to set up and promote Accredited Landlord websites on a regional basis.

For further information please contact Netrent.co.uk on 01352 759988 or email at enquiries@netrent.co.uk

My local authority accredits the property not the landlord can you still advertise these on these sites or does the landlord have to be accredited as well?

I have some properties that are accredited and some that aren't, how do I advertise these on these websites?

We've checked these questions with Netrent.co.uk and their response is that all rented properties except holiday lets can be advertised on the national Netrent.co.uk website, whether the property or landlord is accredited or not.

The definition of Accredited is defined by the individual Local Authority concerned, not Netrent.co.uk. Therefore, if your Local Authority accredits the property only you can advertise that on the regional Accredited Landlords sites and on Netrent.co.uk.

If the Local Authority accredits you as a landlord and doesn't accredit individual properties then all your properties can be advertised on both the regional accredited landlords websites and also on Netrent.co.uk.

If you have a mix of accredited and non-accredited properties you can advertise the accredited properties on both Netrent.co.uk and the Regional Accredited sites. The non-accredited properties can only be advertised on Netrent.co.uk.

I hope this is clear, but if you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to contact Netrent.co.uk on 01352 759988 and they will be pleased to help.

In Bristol I believe the property is accreditated by the Council and I also understand you have to have a licensed HMO before they will consider you. My properties are two small to qualify.

Some councils publish details of landlords but I understand that most don't. One council I know offers tenants a in-house home finding service through internet and copies of newspapers.

It seems very strange that there are so many differences between councils when it comes to accreditation. One council even demands that to become accredited you have to go through a Landlords Association - what is that all about??? Why can't councils and government get their act together. I don't want a countrywide scheme but it would be better than the current system which seems more often than not to benefit no-one.
