Hi, i own a 2 bedroom flat, I am thinking about renting it out soon, i have never had insurance while i live there.

The building itself is insured by the owner and i hadn't
planned on further coverage as it will be unfurnished and anything major/structural would be covered under building insurance.

Having read a few posts, i wonder, am i being naive? i guess there could be legal issues or other things i should be covered for, can anyone advise me before i jump on the phone to an insurance broker? Thanks

Get a copy of the insurancedocuments and just check it covers all the things you want covered. There may be an issue that prevents you renting it out, possibly even that the insurance doesn't cover the property if you rent it out. It's unlikely but better to check up front. If you have no furniture then you probably don't need contents but you might consider public liability. The other insurance you might want to consider are rent & Legal protection and maybe emergency cover.
