I read this weekend that the government plan to close a large number of county courts. Anyone who has had the misfortune to use the courts to evict a tenant knows how busy the courts are, I can't see how closing them is going to make things easier for landlords.

What worries me is that it's likely that even more tenants will be unable to pay their rent due to this recession and getting them out will be even harder and landlords will have to travel further to seek court orders. I know that the RLA have started to bang the drum about this but it's up to every landlord to make their feelings know to the government. Don't wait for someone else to do something - come on landlords get in touch with the government and tell them what you think.

Courts are always busy and often you have to wait, I cant see how closing them is going to make things better. Even more reason to check tenants thoroughly
