New data from flatshare site, SpareRoom, reveals that room rents hit an all-time high in Q4 2022, following a 13% year-on-year rise. With the current rental market chaos showing no sign of resolving itself, SpareRoom has compiled a list of the most and least affordable places across the country to inform those looking for their next move.
According to the data, in London, the most affordable postcodes are mainly in the southeast and east regions. The cheapest areas to rent a room are Norwood (SE25) at £680, followed by Manor Park (E12) at £690 and East Ham (E6) at £697.
