Failing to provide an energy certificate and not complying with an improvement notice has resulted in a landlord being ordered to pay more than £1,800.
North Kesteven council in the east of England took action against Sharon Clarke, who owns a private rented property in the town of Nocton.
The case was heard in her absence at Lincoln Magistrates Court where she was found guilty of the two charges.
She was sentenced to a fine of £660 per charge, costs of £450 and a victim surcharge of £66.
The council is currently running an enforcement amnesty is taking place throughout the district where landlords who identify problems with their private rented homes and come forward for advice to help them bring their properties up to acceptable standards will not have enforcement action taken against them.
