Tenants could be owed £320 from their landlord – all thanks to a new law

A new law means that people living in privately-rented accommodation could be owed refunds worth hundreds of pounds from their landlords.

The Tenant Fees Act 2019, which was introduced in June of this year, banned tenancy fees, and capped deposits at five weeks’ rent.

Holding deposits were also capped at a weeks’ rent under the new legislation.
