In an extraordinary interview on the BBC Today programme Treasury Minister James Murray was asked five times by Nick Robinson whether landlords are working people and five times refused to answer the question.

The only assumption that can be drawn from that interview is that this Government does not accept that landlords are working people. It begs the question what do they think landlords are?
Frankly it’s shocking that a Government Minister will not answer what is a very simple question and clearly indicates the low esteem this Government holds landlords in. Led by Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner this Government has an agenda against landlords and this interview is a clear demonstration of that fact.
