Number of renters looking for a new home falls for a second month in a row

The number of renters looking for a new home has fallen for the second consecutive month, with rent increases also on the wane.

The number of prospective tenants registered at the average estate agent branch fell to 71 in October, down from 83 in September, according to industry body Propertymark.

This is the second consecutive month that the number of new prospective tenants registered per branch has fallen, after landlords reported soaring demand during the summer months.
