The huge problems facing tenants and landlords in the rental market in Wales

Rental industry professionals have warned of the “collapse” of the rental market in Wales as housing prices reach a 17-year high.

According to official figures released from the Office of National Statistics that cover the period up to and including June 2021, the Welsh housing market is continuing to soar.

The latest data shows Wales is still the UK’s region with the highest average house price increase – 16.7% between June 2020 and June 2021 compared to 13.3% in England, 12% in Scotland and 9% in Northern Ireland.
