Channel 5 has announced a new TV series exploring what they describe as the UK’s housing crisis.
Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords provides an insight into the millions of tenants and landlords across the UK, as feuds between them get out of control.
Viewers will witness stories including a flat covered in black mould in Peterborough and a pensioner who has to repossess her house from an abusive tenant in Leeds.
The show also follows eviction specialists dealing with difficult tenants and elite council teams rooting out rogue landlords.
Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords will consist of six one-hour episodes.
Commissioning Editor Michelle Chappell said: “This is generation rent – for every tenant who won’t pay, there’s a landlord making profit out of slum conditions.
“With 8 million of us renting, it’s a huge issue and this dramatic series exposes some shocking tactics on both sides.”
